A permanent program for memorizing the holy Quran began in Jordan’s Aqaba Province, Ad-Dastur Daily reports.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Organized by the province’s Awqaf department in 9 centers for boys and girls, the program aims to promote acquaintance with the holy Quran.

Over 500 students attend the program’s courses which are held once every week, according to the director of the department.

Those attending the program’s courses will also get familiar with the rules of Quran recitation and Tajweed, Sheikh Soleyman Bulbul said.

He said the department’s plan for holding the Quran memorization program was part of the overall plan of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to bring up a generation acquainted with Islamic and Quranic values.
